This is a beautiful table, which unfortunately took four delivery attempts to get to me.
First the table. It is beautiful, solid and well made. Unlike cheaper ones, it does not wobble or sway. The finish is warm and inviting. The leaf extension is also great. You simply unhook the two table halves, spread them apart, and flip up the extension.
Be aware that with the extension down, there is a line down the center of the table, where it splits for the extension to come in. When the table is fully extended, there is an H-shaped set of lines. In both configurations, the parts are held tightly together by hooks under the table.
The delivery was miserable, but this had little or nothing to do with the manufacturer. The first table 'disappeared' from the warehouse, sometime between being accepted at the loading dock and being loaded back on the truck. The second table was signed for by FedEx and then FedEx lost it before they delivered it to me. (Is this bad karma or what?) The third table arrived but was damaged. The box was wet and dented, and the table was cracked in a half dozen places. Finally, the fourth table arrived in perfect condition. Total time form ordering to actually having a table - 2 months!
Finally, the manufacturer was wonderful. They sent e-mails at each step, indicating the name, phone number and e-mail of both the sales person assigned to me and her supervisor. They sent additional e-mails with tracking information. When the delivery company called me to tell me the first table had disappeared, I was pissed off and frustrated. The delivery company was polite but not especially helpful. Two days after the aborted delivery, while I was deciding what to do next, I received a call from the manufacturer asking if the table had arrived and was it OK. When I told them about the situation, they immediately took over, contacted the delivery company and arranged for a new table to be sent out. Similarly, after FedEx lost the second one, I called the manufacturer and they sent a new table immediately without question. Same thing after the third one arrived broken.
Ironically little if any of this delivery misery is the maunfacturers fault. They certainly could not have prevented the first two tables being stolen or lost. The only one they conceivably could have prevented is the third table arriving damaged. However, it was packed like much furniture I have received, so I don't really think they were at fault.
So, in summary, I highly recommend this table. The maunfacturer is great, as is the table. I doubt you will have my miserable delievry experience, which was kept from being a nightmare only because of the quality service from the manufacturer. | |
