I ordered 2 of these lamps and have had them for about a month. Ill tell you the good and the bad.
First the bad part: I really have a difficult time believing these are $140.00+ lamps that are discounted to $30-something dollars. Don't get me wrong - I like them. I'd even be willing to buy them again. But they have the quality and craftsmanship of $40 lamps, not of $140 lamps.
Now the good part: They are well-made. The base is very heavy so they won't tip over, even on carpet. The lampshade is tightly-woven, heavy cloth and not plastic. The posts thread together easily and are very solid metal. The brass coating is exceptionally shiny and thick enough to not be easily marred. The cord is a good guage of wire and not too flimsy. I am using 24W CFL bulbs from BlueMax and they fit in the fixtures with no problem whatsoever.
The customer service from Visiondecor Furniture was the most excellent and surprising of all. They actually gave me a Saturday delivery from FedEx. I was not expecting that. I'm glad I was actually home that afternoon. Plus, the shipping only took about 3 days. Very impressive.
Overall, I have my doubts that this lamp could ever sell for over $140 and I would be very upset if I had paid that much for one. Nevertheless, I'm pleased with the purchase, the lamp is well worth the $36 I paid, and the customer service is fantastic. If you want to use CFL bulbs, note those work great too.
If you are wondering if you should buy them, I'd say they are a very wise investment. Nice quality. Low cost. A great value. | |
